Children's Groups

Sunday mornings - Scramblers (0-3 yrs)

The Scramblers facility is available during the 10:30 AM service

We welcome children from newborn to 3 and their parents and carers. Scramblers is a great place for parents with young children to chat with other parents attending church.  A variety of good quality toys and books are provided for children to engage with.  Scramblers is supervised by a CRB checked volunteer.

We are located in the melrose room - connected to the worship area, so parents can observe the service and listen through the PA system.

Nappy Changing facilities are available in the main hall along with an easy access toilet next to the Scramblers room.

Whatever background, nationality, culture or situation we aim to make everybody welcome. and make a beneficial contribution to their lives.  The children have fun and learn to play alongside other children. The adults enjoy friendship and fellowship in a relaxed atmosphere, in which they have the opportunity to chat with each other.

Uniformed Organisations

The Scouts and Guides are very much a part of our church and it is because of this that once a month the 10:30 AM service on a Sunday is parade with the groups turning out in uniform.

The 5th Preston Scouts and 15th Preston Guides meet each week at St Cuthbert's.  For girls the Guides start at Rainbows, then onto Brownies, and through to Guides. The Scout Group is open to both boys and girls right through from Beavers, to Cubs, to Scouts, and to Explorers (Indiana)

Both groups are run by a team of dedicated leaders and meet in either the church centre itself or the adjacent Douglas Hall for all the usual scout/guide outdoor activities including occasional weekend trips away.
